It seems that one day, we woke up and were surrounded by the green smoothie revolution. On initial glance, the thought of swallowing a thick, creamy concoction of vegetables and fruits seems somewhat unpalatable, however if you take a closer look the health benefits may persuade you to take the plunge.

A green smoothie is a blended drink of vegetables, fruits and the good fats, plus other super food supplements, if you choose. The blended up nature of the green smoothie, allows you to increase your consumption of fruit and vegetables in a way, which is more easily digested that eating them alone.

The green smoothie convert could rattle off a multitude of benefits but here we will list just a few to wet your appetite. If you are a skeptic like many, perhaps push your own personal boundaries and give them a try. What have you got to lose?

A Green Smoothie Recipe for Beginners!


1 cup of kale

1 cup of water

1/2 cup frozen mango


1 frozen banana


Chop up your kale into small pieces to assist your blender.

Add the water and the kale to the blender.

Blitz until smooth green water emerges.

Add the frozen mango and blitz.

Add your pineapple and blitz.

Add your banana and blitz.

Once nice and smooth pour into a glass and enjoy!
