Ingredients

2 cups water

1 cup sugar

4 cloves

1 cinnamon stick or 1tspn cinnamon

2 lemons

1 24oz bottle Claret

1 lemon stuck with cloves


Method

Boil water and sugar, cloves and cinnamon for 5 minutes. Strain and ass thinly sliced lemons and stand for 10 minutes. Pour liquid back into the pan and add win. Heat slowly but don't boil. Pour into a heat proof jug, float clove stuck lemon on top and serve hot.
