Taking Regular Breaks

Taking breaks throughout your day from mental tasks increases productivity and creativity. If you start skipping your breaks it can lead to exhaustion and stress.

Just like a work out at the gym, your mental concentration becomes fatigued after sustained use and needs a rest period before it can recover. By taking a walk, reading a book in another room or taking the all-important lunch break, both nutritional and cognitive recharging will apply. Another cool way to break during work is by taking ten minutes to do a few stretches at your desk. This will boost your performance and make you feel energetic.

Most office workers are not moving around enough and taking allocated breaks, by doing this you can impair your health. In saying this, you don't want to take this too far and start procrastinating, this may not end well...

Suggestions:

Take 10 minutes out of your morning for meditation and another ten minutes in the afternoon to stretch those kinks out. Perhaps even bring a large swiss ball in to work and swap it with your chair. Remember, taking regular breaks or a quick stroll out of the office can go a long way for productivity.
